What makes a friendship, an object, or a painting dear? Many times friendships and collections seem to be connected with the same sensibility. Most of my personal collecting has been based on the simple principle that it feels pretty to me.
I was recently gifted a painting of two roses from Jack’s collection. I loved the painting over thirty years ago when in his apartment. I could not have imagined at the time that it would one day be mine.
